Tonight, the squad of Sydney McLaughlin, Elle Purrier St. Pierre, Heather MacLean, and Roisin Willis will attempt to break the world record in the indoor DMR as part of the grand opening of The TRACK and New Balance in Boston. Across town, pros like Keira D'Amato, Emily Sisson, Weini Kelati, Geordie Beamish, and Edward Cheserek will line up for the B.A.A. 5K on Saturday morning.
There will also be a heck of a track meet at the USATF Golden Games at Mt. SAC, headlined by a Christian Coleman-Fred Kerley-Michael Norman-Rai Benjamin fatal four-way in the men's 200. Tune in to CNBC from 5-7 p.m. ET on Saturday to watch that one live.
And then on Monday, we've got the small matter of the Boston Marathon, which, led by stars like Geoffrey Kamworor, Peres Jepchirchir, Joyciline Jepkosgei, and Molly Seidel, features the greatest fields in the race's 126-year history.
We'll have boots-on-the-ground coverage for you from Boston all weekend, starting today with our Friday 15 Boston Marathon preview podcast. If you want to listen to the Friday 15 -- which we produce every Friday, marathon or not -- get access by signing up for the LetsRun.com Supporters Club here.
There's no better time to be a running fan, so enjoy the weekend everybody!
The most loaded race in Boston's 126-year history is upon us. Can Kamworor rebound after two years of injuries or will reigning WMM champs Albert Korir (NYC), Sisay Lemma (London), or Benson Kipruto (Boston) keep rolling?
DeBues-Stafford says that while she has no reason to believe anyone on BTC is taking performance-enhancing drugs, the uncertainty surrounding the specifics of Bowerman and coach Jerry Schumacher's continuing relationship with the banned Shelby Houlihan was a "critical reason" for her departure.
The Boston Marathon is almost here, pro outdoor track got underway in a big way at the USATF Bermuda Games, but the biggest story of the week is Gabriela Debues-Stafford leaving the Bowerman Track Club because of the Shelby Houlihan situation. Shelby has issued a statement in response and we break it all down, plus talk about Mt. SAC and the return of Evan Jager in the steeple and Karissa Schweizer from Achilles surgery.
