We made it, people! A full* track season is in the books.

Well, sort of. The two Chinese Diamond League meets never happened. And there's no "official" end to the track season. ISTAF Berlin is next weekend, followed by the Zagreb and Nairobi Continental Tour meets the week after that. There are always races if you're looking for them.

But for many fans (and athletes), Thursday's Diamond League final at the Weltklasse Zurich meet was the last hurrah. Keely Hodgkinson is going on vacation to Greece. Femke Bol is going to Sardinia. Kenny Bednarek is going to Hawaii. They have all earned a break.

The season never ends when you're a running fan, however. Track is over, but cross country has already begun. Fall marathon season is just two weeks away. So take your vacation, but don't linger too long. COVID may have robbed us of competitions in 2020, but in 2021, the sport never stops.

Can a Mouthpiece Make You a Better Runner? (Ad)
The AIRWAAV performance mouthpiece is a relatively new training tool that launched late in 2020 after nearly 16 years of research. The AIRWAAV performance mouthpiece fits along your bottom teeth and pushes your jaw just forward enough to create the "optimal airway opening," resulting in:
  • Increased endurance -- by reducing respiratory rate by 20%, resulting in less lactic acid production
  • Increased strength -- by improving muscular endurance
  • Faster recovery times -- by reducing cortisol buildup by up to 50%
